Overview
The Ingersoll Firm provides organizations with legally defensible and sound litigation preparedness consulting services. Our services include:
- ESI Data Mapping: a detailed inventory of an organization's data (ESI) sources, customized to the needs of legal and records management constituents.
- Litigation Hold Consulting: identification, preservation, and notification consulting services which are based on industry best-practices, case law, and the amended FRCP.
- Backup Tape Inventory Consulting: we work with your organization's IT staff to create an inventory of backup tapes and a plan for the reduction, destruction, or recycling of backup tapes. This service ensures data contained on backup tapes is properly disposed of--or retained--per the organization's retention schedules and litigation portfolio.
- Deposition Preparation: we will assist in the preparation of personnel for 30(b)(6) depositions concerning IT systems, litigation hold procedures, or general electronic discovery issues.
- Expert Witness, Special Master, and Neutral Services: We provide independent Special Master, Expert Witness (testifying and non-testifying) and Neutral (ADR) services (mediation & arbitration) for electronic discovery.
- Electronic Discovery and Technology Education: The Ingersoll Firm has delivered technology education to hundreds of attorneys, paralegals, litigation support professionals, and others throughout the United States. Our technology education services ensure legal professionals understand the dynamics of electronic discovery from a technical perspective.
Technology Education for Legal Professionals: Computer Networks and File Servers 101 (Eligible for CLE credit in some states)
The objective of this session is to provide legal professionals with a basic understanding of the fundamental elements of an organization’s Information Technology (IT) infrastructure. This seminar focuses on computer networks: the system of desktop and server computers organizations deploy throughout the enterprise. This seminar also reviews file servers under the Microsoft operating systems. File servers store user data, and can be critical considerations to electronic discovery strategy.
Technology Education for Legal Professionals: Microsoft E-mail Technologies (Exchange and Outlook) (Eligible for CLE credit in some states)
This session will teach attendees the fundamental technologies of Exchange Server (the “brains” and workhorse) and Microsoft Outlook. The focus is on email:
HOW it is stored; WHERE it is stored; WHEN and under what conditions email is deleted. This session breaks down precisely what a .PST file is, and where legal professionals can expect to find such files.Technology Education for Legal Professionals: Backup Tape and Disaster Recovery Systems (Eligible for CLE credit in some states)
This session provides legal professionals with a firm grounding in the concepts and technologies involved in enterprise backup and disaster recovery systems. The emphasis is largely on magnetic tape based media. This session breaks down the various types of backups employed by organizations—such as full, differential, and incremental backups. There is also an extended discussion of backup tapes in the context of restoration, and the challenges associated with producing backup tapes in an electronic discovery context. Attendees will also enjoy a detailed review of the leading corporate/enterprise backup software platform, NetBackup.
